This experience, combined with his admiration for mime legends like Marcel Marceau and comedians such as Red Skelton, Carol Burnett, and Shields and Yarnell, led him to realize that mime was his calling.

By the early 1980s, he was performing across states like Michigan, Utah, and Texas, each locale contributing to his evolution as an artist. His international breakthrough came in 1991 when he guest-taught in Le Puy, France, immersing himself in a culture steeped in art and music. The following year, 1992, was a milestone as he performed at the World Expo in Seville, Spain, as a featured artist at the Pabellón de la Promesa.  This event, held under the Spanish sun amidst a celebration of global creativity, was a defining moment, reflecting how far he had come in his career.

One of the most intriguing chapters of Randy King’s life is his relocation to Russia in 2000. His first visit to Russia occurred in 1993 as part of a Christian mission to tell biblical stories through mime.  King recalled his initial impression: “As a child, he saw Russia and the Red Square only through black-and-white TV and imagined it gloomy and gray. ‘And it's actually red! And there are so many other colors around! St. Basil's Cathedral alone is worth it! I felt then that I was inside the story, I was a participant in it. It was a shock! A mystery!’” 

This visit marked the beginning of a deep connection with Russia, leading to multiple return trips.King’s decision to move permanently was influenced by both spiritual guidance and the audience’s acceptance of pantomime in Russia. He settled in Ivanovo, 400 kilometers north of Moscow, and over the years, he has become a true patriot of his adopted homeland. Despite not speaking Russian fluently, King has integrated into Russian culture, defending it when criticized. His friendship with Sergei Sorokin, a Russian man he met through their shared interest in pantomime, further solidified his ties to the country.

King’s personal life in Russia includes his marriage to Lyudmila, a Russian woman he met through dance, marking his second marriage. He maintains strong family ties with his four children and many grandchildren in the U.S., visiting them regularly, which underscores his ability to bridge two worlds.Hollywood and Diverse RolesIn addition to his mime performances, Randy King has made a mark in Hollywood, showcasing his versatility as a performer.
